– Launching a New Era in Security Screening (2004 Competition Winner)

Hidden guns, explosives and contraband will be easier to detect thanks to revolutionary radiation-free imaging technology developed by ThruVision Ltd. Winners of the £25,000 top prize in the 2004 Research Councils Business Plan Competition, the company is due to start rolling out a range of security screening products at the end of 2005.

A spin-out company from the CCLRC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire, ThruVision aims to become the leading commercial provider of compact security screening equipment using terahertz imaging technology. This technology works by detecting the terahertz waves that all people and objects emit. Because no X-rays or other types of ionising radiation are used, health and safety is not a concern.

会員は与信業者１１４社。会員へ個人信用情報を提供。

開示手続き（0120-95-0120)は、全国信用情報センター連合会（全情連）に加盟している独立した33の個人信用情報機関に業務委託している。消費者金融専業者等は、それぞれ所在地域を管轄するセンターに会員として加盟している。

これら３３の個人信用情報機関が共同利用するＳＴＡＲＳシステムの運用は、㈱日本情報センター (JIC)が行っている。ＪＩＣはさらにＰＲＩＳおよびＣＲＤＢも運営。なお、ＳＴＡＲＳの企画・開発は㈱アイネットが行っている。

個人信用情報の保護のために、「信用情報取扱主任者制度」を運用している。
金融庁｢金融分野における個人情報保護に関するガイドラインの安全管理措置等についての実務指針｣に基づく個人情報の安全管理措置に関する外部監査を実施。

検索エンジン Search Tool

検索エンジンとは、狭義にはインターネットに存在する情報（ウェブページ、ウェブサイト、画像ファイル、ネットニュースなど）を検索する機能を提供するサーバーやシステムの総称である。インターネットの普及初期には、検索エンジンとしての機能のみを提供していたウェブサイトそのものを検索エンジンと呼んだが、現在では様々なサービスが加わったポータルサイト化が進んだため、検索エンジンをサービスの一つとして提供するウェブサイトを単に検索エンジンと呼ぶことはなくなっている。広義には、インターネットに限定せず情報を検索するシステム全般を含む。

狭義の検索エンジンは、ロボット型検索エンジン、ディレクトリ型検索エンジン、メタ検索エンジンなどに分類される。 広義の検索エンジンとしては、テキスト情報の全文検索機能を備えたソフトウェア（全文検索システム）等がある。 また、検索エンジンは、全文検索が可能なものと不可能なものがある。

Academia's quest for the ultimate search tool

The University of California at Berkeley is creating an interdisciplinary center for advanced search technologies and is in talks with search giants including Google to join the project, CNET News.com has learned. The project is one of many efforts at U.S. universities designed to address the explosive growth of Internet search and the complex issues that have arisen in the field.

U.C. Berkeley, birthplace of early search highflier Inktomi and the school where Google CEO Eric Schmidt got his computer science doctoral degree, is bringing together roughly 20 faculty members from various departments to cross-pollinate work on search technology, said Robert Wilensky, the center's director. The principal areas of focus: privacy, fraud, multimedia search and personalization.
